One of my favorite projects was when I was invited to be the resident artist in the SF MOMA Education Department. My talented friend Ben Burke was also invited, and we built this interactive tree for Sunday family day at the museum. We had over 500 families come in and make birds, birdhouses, leaves, vines, etc., out of a load of recycled materials we had brought in for everyone to play with.
SF Day School Mural
I was invited to be the resident artist at the SF Day School and continued my experience there by pitching a pilot mural project with the kids. It was amazing to see kids grow confident and excited about the possibility of painting large and on the walls. The mural turned out beautiful and I am so proud of my students!
Headlands Center for the Arts
The Headlands contacted me to do an installation for kids for their 30th anniversary party. I did a fabric installation for story-telling and napping, which proved to be a much needed space for everyone to take a break. Special thanks to my talented friend Serena Tinio for helping me sew and build the pieces.
One of my favorite yearly projects is helping to run a 1-week summer camp called Art Forts. The SF Day School hosts 6 artists to help kids build their dream fort. It's definitely the hardest work week of the year and by far the most rewarding.
